Give Where You Live
Supported by
Through the generous support from Give Where You Live, EdConnect works to improve the educational outcomes of disadvantaged Geelong and Surf Coast regions students; together with those at risk of disengaging within primary and secondary schools through local intergenerational volunteers.
The support from Give Where You Live enables local residents who have passion and a desire to support students and schools to be recruited, trained and matched with Geelong and Surf Coast partner schools to meet their need. Following disrupted learning in the wake of COVID 19, there is a greater need for additional support, emotionally, socially and academically which is provided by EdConnect volunteers.
In November 2021, the Give Where You Live Foundation released $550,800 in funding for Education and Employment programs across the Geelong region. EdConnect Australia was the proud recipient a grant of $35,000 to provide essential social, emotional, and academic support for students at risk of disengaging from their learning by expanding our services to partner with more schools across Geelong and the Surf Coast. 16 other local organisations received grants to assist them to deliver their projects and help remove barriers.

Give Where You Live Foundation
Since 1954, the Give Where You Live Foundation has been bringing individual donors, corporate supporters and community partners together to help our region’s most vulnerable people – to work together to Build a Better Community.
At the core of the Foundation’s mission is creating long-term sustainable change for our most vulnerable community members. Integral to that mission is our ability to innovate, think and act with imagination and create strong regional partnerships.
As a result Give Where You Live is able to allocated community contributions of approximately $2 million per annum to those most in need within our region.
The History
The support from Give Where You Live originated from a time when EdConnect were known as Time Help. Give Where You Live has continued to support local youth in the Geelong and Surf Coast area through financial assistance to recruit, train, support and place volunteers in local schools.
The Future of the Program
EdConnect will continue to strengthen our presence in the region and work with our partner schools and volunteers to enable students to reach their educational potential and thrive with the support of intergenerational adults.
