Gerri Clay joined EdConnect Australia in February 2018.
She is a qualified occupational therapist who has substantial experience in the not-for-profit sector, in the UK and Australia managing teams and leading organisations. Her expertise includes community care provision across aged care, disability and mental health with specialisation in dementia care, assistive technologies and home modifications to maximise independence.
From 2004 to January 2018, Ms Clay was CEO of Independent Living Centre WA where she grew the organisation from $3M to a $14M turnover overseeing the strategy, governance and financial performance, people and culture. Prior to this she was General Manager of Alzheimer’s Australia WA.

Narelle joined EdConnect Australia in May 2017.
She is a highly experienced manager and leader within the community development, local government and employment services sectors. Narelle has an extensive background in managing not for profit organisations and teams, with a proven track record in developing and executing successful business turnarounds and new project initiatives.
Narelle has highly effective influencing and negotiating skills across a broad cross section of stakeholders including profit, non-profit and government partners. Narelle is skilled in strategy development, operational efficiency, facilitation, engagement and providing stabilising and strengthening leadership to diverse teams.
Narelle is passionate about the important work of the not for profit sector with a belief that we certainly can make a difference to the lives of others each and every day. Integrity in everything we do is essential, compassion and professionalism go hand in hand.
Bonnie McGregor joined EdConnect in 2005.
Previously, Bonnie had her own business operating the finances and also undertaking this for other small business owners. Bonnie believes in the real difference EdConnect can make in the lives of children and young people. She has a Diploma of Accounting and enjoys the challenge of the not-for-profit sector.

Meg Heller joined EdConnect in 2019.
Meg has a strong background in marketing, education and administration. She has over five years of experience teaching at the primary level and has extensive knowledge about the education industry through her work as an curriculum development administrator and trainer for an educational software company. Her unique mix of marketing experiences, coupled with her passion to help children, fits well with her role at EdConnect.

Rural Liaison Officer
Karen is the Liaison Office for rural WA covering the Southwest and Peel Region and is based in Mandurah. Karen has a background working with children of all abilities and has extensive experience in the community sector cross all regions of WA. Karen is currently studying towards a BA in Community Development and is committed to supporting communities to increase their resilience, wellbeing and connectedness.
Port Hedland and Pilbara Liaison Officer
Megan is the Liason Officer for Port Hedland and Pilbara, based out of Port Hedland. She has a Bachelor of Science (Health Promotion) from Curtin University and is very driven by the ethos of this science, to empower people to be the best version of themselves, which sits nicely with EdConnect Australia. Megan has worked previously in a variety of mentoring roles, from supporting apprentices and trainees to complete their apprenticeships, to helping young children and teenagers facing homelessness. She also has experience in the fundraising industry as a campaign manager.
South Metropolitan Liaison Officer

Julie joined EdConnect in 2011.
She has previously worked with at-risk youth through sports and recreation, and has over 10 years experience in both training and the community service sector. Having worked in both government and not-for-profit organisations, as well as over 25 years of extensive volunteering roles, she is passionate about the needs of young people and is always in awe of the wonderful life long gift that the volunteers provide.

Karen joined EdConnect in 2016
She has over 10 years of experience working in the community services field, including education, housing and youth support programs. Karen has previously worked in case management roles for government and non-government organisations and has an extensive knowledge of the issues impacting school-aged children and their families. Karen is passionate about making connections with people of all ages to benefit individuals and the community as a whole.

Sarah joined EdConnect in 2017
She comes to us with over twenty years experience working with youth in a variety of settings including owning and operating a Long Day Care Centre and as an ECE/Primary Teacher. Sarah is passionate about each and every child’s right to be empowered and successful within the education system and believes that this is possible through the EdConnect program. She believes that creating intergenerational connections benefits not only the student and volunteers, but the community as a whole.
Northern Liaison Officer

Helen joined EdConnect in January 2019.
Helen brings a variety of experience in human resource management, teaching and volunteering to this role. She has worked in the private sector in generalist, training and organisational change roles and most recently as a primary school teacher. Helen has experienced, first-hand, how extra support can increase a child’s self-esteem and academic outcomes.
Helen believes that all children have the right to a quality education and that all children can learn – some children just need extra assistance so they can become lifelong learners and productive citizens in their community.
Geelong & Surf Coast Liaison Officer
Sally joined EdConnect in January 2019.
She has qualifications in natural resource management and experience in developing and implementing programmes within school communities and teaching sustainability in both formal and informal education settings. She has extensive skills in forming relationships with a variety of stakeholders and is most proud of her involvement with the Enviroschools Programme in New Zealand. She has been employed by a variety of local and national government agencies in New Zealand before having her children and moving to Australia in 2012.
Sally is passionate about offering children exposure to real world learning opportunities and believes whole-heartedly in the philosophy of strengthening communities from within. She finds it very rewarding to facilitate communication channels to link like-minded groups and individuals.
Western Liaison Officer
Rhonda joined EdConnect in March 2018.
She brings extensive experience in a broad range of marketing and communications activities including community development, community engagement, volunteer management, and sponsorship acquisition and management. She has worked in a variety of sectors including the not-for-profit and government sectors.
Rhonda is passionate about helping and supporting the not-for-profit sector, particularly future generations. Rhonda believes in a holistic approach to education and learning. She believes that with positive reinforcement and encouraging self-belief all children have the opportunity to grow into caring, respectful and passionate adults.
