Award Winners celebrated in annual ceremony on the East Coast

In May, we celebrated our East Coast 2023 Volunteer Award winners at the Ingenia Lifestyle Lakeside village in Lara. The students from Lara Primary School opened the proceedings with a delightful performance.

These awards formally recognise the wonderful work that all our school coordinators, mentors and learning support volunteers do, and are a fantastic opportunity to stop and reflect on all that we achieved over the past year through your incredibly generous contributions.

Congratulations to all nominees and winners, the Victorian winners were:

  • Judy Plowman, Lara Lake Primary School: Learning Support Volunteer of the Year
  • Mike Johnson, Bayside College: Mentor Volunteer of the Year
  • Effie Sultana, St Albans Heights: School Coordinator of the Year
  • Special Mention of the Year: Teresa Livoti, Monmia Primary School
  • Rising Star of the Year Award: Peter Hughes, Ceres Primary School

This year, EdConnect had a new award category in 2023, the Learning Support Teacher Recognition Award. Acknowledgement was given to Kim from Wangala Primary School, Shay and Anna from Lollypop Creek Primary School, and Manpreet from Clayton North Primary School.

Our long serving volunteers were also acknowledged with a presentation of a new lapel pin that can be worn on the EdConnect lanyard. Lapel pins were presented to Deidre Moss, Reno Demicoli, Susi Cudmore and David Cudmore for 5 years of service. Marianne Nyhoff received her 10 year lapel pin, while Ted received lapel pins for 15 years of service. Congratulations and thank you for all your years of support.

We would also like to thank the staff at Ingenia Lifestyle Lakeside for their support in hosting our awards ceremony.
